Greetings Church Family,
As I have reflected on this last weekend, I am reminded once again of how great our God is. What we have is truly good news. It is freedom to our hearts and liberation to our souls. The good news of the Gospel is truly the spring board that helps launch us into life and life to the fullest. As we continue to reflect on the story of Nicodemus, what solace we have knowing that God so loved the world that he gave his only Son. God was not disappointed with us, He did not look at us with disdain. The reason God sent His son was not because He was angry with us, but because He loved us! Wow. With this understanding we can come out of darkness and into His light. We do not have to hide in our brokenness, we do not have to retreat in our shame - or fear our brokenness being exposed; instead, we can, with confidence come out of darkness and allow the light of the Kingdom to expose what is restricting us from living life and life to the fullest. For Christ did not come to condemn the world but to save it.
As you reflect on these words this week, you might find yourself hiding in your brokenness or living in shame because of your past experience with people, or because of past or current mistakes. Today you may be hiding from what you believe is a disappointed God. Truth is, He is not disappointed in you. He is not angry with you. He is simply reminding you today that He loved you so much that He sent his son to free you from your brokenness. He sent His Son not to condemn you, but to save you and to deliver you. So be encouraged! Come out and allow the light of God, His love, His redemptive power, to restore you to the life and life more full you are called to.
